What will I need to start using the voucher add-on?

  • You will need a Stripe account to connect to ResDiary Lite. This is the POS integration that will transfer the payment from the user to you upon purchase. 

  • Have a system in place with staff on how often vouchers are sold or redeemed. This entails any physical gift card you may wish to send to the guest. 

  • Follow the prompts through the creation of your first voucher and subscribe to the add-on

  • You’ll be given a link to the voucher portal which you can share on your networks.

How do I create more vouchers?

  • Vouchers can be created by clicking on different values- 25, 50, 100, 150, 200 or the desired custom value by clicking on the custom check box

  • Consider adding in terms and conditions to advise customers when the voucher is redeemable. Eg. voucher is not valid over weekends or public holidays. 

  • Another option is to Generate Voucher reference codes for purchases or redemptions in-person



Where can my vouchers be viewed by the public?

  • When you are ready to sell vouchers, ensure that “Active” is toggled on each voucher

  • Your vouchers can now be viewed for sale on the voucher portal link provided - see  “My Vouchers URL” on your Vouchers page.

  • Toggle on the Dish Cult option if you would like to sell vouchers on your Dish Cult profile.



Can I edit a current voucher?

  • The voucher title, description, validity, maximum purchase, terms & conditions can be edited 

  • Vouchers can be made inactive, which will hide them from sales on the purchase portal

What channels can I use to sell vouchers?

  • You can promote your voucher portal link on your networks that vouchers are available to purchase from your venue. 

  • Toggle on the Dish Cult option if you would like to sell vouchers on your Dish Cult profile.

  • Voucher references can be generated internally by the restaurants and distributed via email or on the spot at the venue. ResDiary Lite also offer bulk generation of vouchers


How do voucher sales work?

  • Vouchers can be purchased for self or as a gift to family and friends. 

  • Shoppers can send the gift vouchers to multiple recipients in a single transaction

Where do I see the number of vouchers sold?

  • The vouchers sold and purchased can be tracked by the restaurants from the Voucher sales section located in the left panel of the Vouchers page. 

  • Click View All to view the details of sales with filters to understand the expired, redeemed, not redeemed, sold vouchers are captured on this page.

  • Restaurants can search the sales tracking report based on Voucher reference code and display the search result


How do I remind customers that their voucher has not been redeemed?

  • Restaurants can click on the Resend hyperlink to resend the vouchers that are not redeemed to gift recipients or to the diners 

  • Resend hyperlink option is also used in case there is an error in the email address provided previously, A new email ID can be added before triggering the resend

How can customers redeem their vouchers?

  • The vouchers purchased by the diners can be redeemed by the restaurant while taking an internal booking. The voucher ref input has been introduced in the booking process. 

  • Alternatively, restaurants can redeem a voucher reference code from the diary’s Vouchers page without having a booking attached to it

  • Is the Vouchers add-on free? Yes, it is offered free on launch. It may be configured with payment when the business decides to make it a paid add-on.

  • Is this mobile responsive? Yes. The ResDiary Lite platform and voucher portal for purchases are fully responsive to mobile.

  • Are Vouchers available to all RDL customers globally? Yes it is available for free to all RDL customers

  • Can vouchers of any value be created? Yes, we have a custom option that allows vouchers of any value to be created

  • Is validity country-specific? Yes, it is based on the legal terms of every country. 

    • Australia - minimum validity period of 3 years (36 months)

    • New Zealand - minimum validity period of 2 years (24 months).

    • Ireland - minimum validity period of 5 years (60 months) 

    • Rest of the world - no minimum validity requirement 

  • Can vouchers be deleted once set up? No, vouchers can only be made inactive to prevent further sales. It cannot be deleted since the sales report will have a reference to it. 

  • Can an inactive voucher be redeemed? Yes, as long as the validity of the voucher is within the expiry period it can be redeemed

  • Can the voucher validity be extended? A particular voucher reference expires based on when it was created and the expiry set by the venues. Venues can edit the expiry date of the voucher, but not the particular voucher references which were generated previously.

  • Can the voucher price be edited after creation? No, voucher price cannot be edited once created

  • Can the vouchers be redeemed online by customers? No, not yet. Redemption is supported only for internal diary bookings at the moment 

  • Can vouchers be sent to multiple recipients? Yes, in the same transaction vouchers can be sent as a gift to multiple recipients
